Who am I?

I was born in 1996, in Eskisehir (Turkey); a small city close to the nation’s capital, better known for its cultivated and modern image. Coming from an old family which forever long possessed a passion for fine arts, I was highly inspired by my mother, a graphic designer who later on pursued in mastering and teaching ceramics and my father whom had keen interest in both photography and music. As my family had been collecting art as well as appreciating it, I have had the opportunity to encounter and apprehend the fine arts from an early age. During my years in elementary school having been intrigued by music and dance, I had started dancing amongst the Folk Dance Ensemble which belonged to Folklore Research Center of Anadolu University (Eskisehir). The seven years of discipline and hard work within the dedication to performing on-stage could possibly a major element that drove my interest towards stage and hereof performance arts.

During my high school years, I had commenced taking drawing lessons as I concentrated on and clarified my aspiration as to study stage and costume design. My focus on the stage had become quiet steady therefore I have earned my place in Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University (Istanbul) in year 2014, after the termination of my senior year.

The department of stage and costume design was generous and meticulous about courses such as light design, technical drawing and costume construction. Having divided the department courses into three major branches (stage design, costume design, puppet-making) the faculty had plenty to offer yet during my third year I started to seek further more fruitful challenges off-campus hence started to seize job opportunities. Between the years 2018 and 2022 I had worked at a production company, which is notable for creating conceptual designs alongside the utilization of interactive media, as an art director/stage and costume designer. Sharing my potential in such a workplace has not only broadened my horizons in both costume and stage design but also rendered me awareness upon developing technologies in my field.

In year 2021, I have completed my bachelor’s degree by the complete execution of a costume design that I had based upon the cultural roots of my heritage.

Currently I am completing a Master Degree on Costume Design at Berlin University of Arts (UdK)
